let's talk about your elopement

Washington State is not a single landscape — it is a dozen of them. In a single day you can move from the ancient, cathedral silence of the Hoh Rainforest to the electric turquoise of Diablo Lake to the jagged, snow-capped ridgeline of Artist Point. No other state in the country gives you this kind of range, and no other state rewards the adventurous couple quite like this one.

I am a destination elopement photographer specializing in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest. My work is documentary and cinematic — I follow your energy, anticipate the quiet moments, and deliver a gallery that captures not just the landscape, but the feeling of being completely alive in it together.

Whether you are dreaming of vows in a cathedral of moss-draped maples in the Hoh, a sunrise ceremony on the ridgeline above the clouds at Artist Point, or a golden hour session on the shores of Diablo Lake with Mount Shuksan glowing behind you — I will be right there with you, camera in hand.

For Couples Who Choose the Extraordinary

"Washington doesn't give you a backdrop. It gives you a world. My job is to make sure you never forget what it felt like to stand inside it together.

More Than a Photographer. A Partner in Your Adventure.

the experience

Washington's wild places are extraordinary — and they require someone who knows them. I know the exact moment the light hits the water at Diablo Lake, the trail conditions at Artist Point in early summer, and the quietest corner of the Hoh where the moss hangs so thick it feels like the forest is holding its breath.

From the moment you reach out, I become your planning partner and your creative collaborator. I will help you navigate National Park permits, build a realistic timeline that accounts for Washington's unpredictable weather, and connect you with trusted local vendors so your day feels completely effortless.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

ASK ME ANYTHING

Planning a destination elopement raises a lot of questions. Here are the ones I hear most often. Don't see yours? Just ask.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

DO I NEED A PERMIT TO ELOPE Washington's national parks?

Yes — both Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park require a Special Use Permit for elopement photography sessions. Permits typically cost between $150–$300 and must be applied for well in advance, especially for peak season. Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest (where Artist Point is located) has its own permit process. I guide every couple through the permit process and handle all the logistics so you don't have to.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO ELOPE IN Washington?

July through mid-September is the sweet spot for alpine locations like Artist Point and Diablo Lake — the trails are fully accessible, the wildflowers are blooming, and the days are long. The Hoh Rainforest is stunning year-round, with winter and spring offering the most atmospheric, moody light. Washington's weather is famously unpredictable, so I always build a weather contingency plan into every session.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

how far is artist point from seattle?

Artist Point is approximately 2.5–3 hours from Seattle, making it a very accessible destination for a day elopement. Diablo Lake is about 3 hours east of Seattle via Highway 20 (North Cascades Highway), which is one of the most scenic drives in the country. The Olympic Peninsula and Hoh Rainforest are about 3–4 hours from Seattle via ferry or the Hood Canal Bridge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Can we legally elope in washington state?

Absolutely. Washington State marriage licenses are available from any county auditor's office. There is no waiting period, licenses are valid for 60 days, and you can marry anywhere in the state. You will need two witnesses and a licensed officiant (or a friend who gets ordained online). I can connect you with trusted local officiants who specialize in elopement ceremonies.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR ELOPEMENT in washington?

Washington's landscapes range from deep emerald greens to slate grays to the vivid turquoise of alpine lakes. Earthy tones, deep forest greens, warm creams, and rich burgundies all photograph beautifully against the Pacific Northwest palette. Flowing fabrics look stunning in the mountain breeze. Most importantly — wear layers and bring comfortable hiking shoes. Many of Washington's most beautiful locations require a trail hike to reach.
