let's talk about your elopement

Colorado is not subtle. The mountains here are enormous, the wildflowers are relentless, and the golden aspens in autumn turn entire valleys into something that doesn't look real. It is a state built for people who feel most themselves when they are outside, moving, breathing cold mountain air, and choosing adventure over convention.

I am a destination elopement photographer specializing in the Colorado Rockies. My approach is documentary and cinematic — I follow your energy, anticipate the unscripted moments, and deliver a gallery that captures not just how the mountains looked, but how it felt to stand inside them and say yes to each other.

Whether you are dreaming of a sunrise ceremony reflected in the still waters of Maroon Lake, a wildflower meadow in the San Juans so remote you need a 4x4 to reach it, or a golden hour session in Rocky Mountain National Park with elk grazing in the meadow below — I will be right there with you.

For Couples Who Choose the Extraordinary

"Colorado doesn't ask you to be quiet. It asks you to be present. My job is to make sure every image proves that you were.

More Than a Photographer. A Partner in Your Adventure.

the experience

Colorado's mountains are extraordinary — and they require someone who knows them. I know the exact time the light hits the Maroon Bells reflection, which 4x4 track in the San Juans leads to a wildflower meadow most people never find, and how to build a timeline that gets you to the alpine tundra before the afternoon thunderstorms roll in.

From the moment you reach out, I become your planning partner and your creative collaborator. I will help you navigate National Park permits, coordinate timed entry reservations, and connect you with trusted local vendors so your day feels completely effortless — even at 12,000 feet.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

ASK ME ANYTHING

Planning a destination elopement raises a lot of questions. Here are the ones I hear most often. Don't see yours? Just ask.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

DO I NEED A PERMIT TO ELOPE in colorado's national parks?

Yes — Rocky Mountain National Park requires a Special Use Permit for commercial photography and elopement sessions, which costs approximately $300 and must be applied for in advance. Maroon Bells (Aspen) requires a separate permit through the White River National Forest, with an application fee of around $200. Many popular trailheads also require timed entry reservations during peak season. I handle all permit research and guide every couple through the application process.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO ELOPE IN Colorado?

Summer (late June through August) is peak wildflower season, especially in the San Juans and around Crested Butte — the meadows are absolutely explosive with color. Fall (mid-September through mid-October) brings the golden aspens, which is arguably the most spectacular time of year in Colorado. Winter offers a snowy wonderland with far fewer crowds. Spring is beautiful but unpredictable — snow can fall at any time above 10,000 feet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

CAN WE legally self-solemnize in colorado?

Yes — Colorado is one of only a handful of states that allows self-solemnization, meaning you can legally marry without an officiant or witnesses. You simply obtain a marriage license from any county clerk's office, sign it yourselves, and return it within 35 days. This makes Colorado one of the most elopement-friendly states in the country and gives you complete freedom to have your ceremony wherever and however you want.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?

I recommend booking at least 6–12 months in advance. Permitting applications can take time, depending on where you want to elope.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR ELOPEMENT in colorado?

Colorado's landscapes shift dramatically with the seasons. In summer, the vivid greens and wildflower colors pair beautifully with warm neutrals, soft creams, and earthy tones. In fall, the golden aspens create a stunning backdrop for rich jewel tones — deep burgundy, forest green, and warm terracotta. In winter, white and cream against the snow is breathtaking. Layers are essential — mountain weather changes fast, and temperatures drop significantly above 10,000 feet. Comfortable hiking boots are a must for most locations.
